Why public libraries?

Public libraries:

are a trusted resource in local communities.

combine support for information access and digital resources and skills access.

Librarians are highly trusted as a profession (3rd most trusted after nurses and air pilots).

libraries in more deprived areas have a higher level of use than those in more affluent areas and act as digital hubs providing digital access for members of the public who would otherwise be excluded either due to lack of digital device, skills or because of poor connectivity.

participate in warm space programmes.
