We are keen to help anyone in the health and care system in England learn more about the work we do and how they can get help, support and advice from the NHS Knowledge and Library Services – locally, regionally and nationally.
This series of webinars offer free, short – usually 30 minute presentations with relevant experts and guest presenters on a broad range of topics to share more about the service and how to get access.

Health disparities: using data and health literacy techniques to reduce inequalities with Ruth Carlyle and Sue Robertson, NHS Knowledge and Library Services, HEE
To address health disparities, we need to focus on improving health literacy, digital literacy and digital access. In this session you will find out about our newly available maps and online tool using, place-based geodata to identify levels of health literacy and digital access in your area.
The session will also introduce resources and our health literacy elearning programme, and how to use these as part of a series of steps to address local health disparities.

Supporting the public with health choices: Easy read guides and health literacy training for all with Ruth Carlyle and Sue Robertson, NHS Knowledge and Library Services, HEE
Changes in the NHS are placing increasing emphasis on the ability of members of the public to participate in shared decision making. This session introduces two guides for healthcare practitioners, carers and third sector colleagues who support people with learning disabilities and autism. These were co-produced with people with lived experience of learning difficulties and autism and will be of value more widely as easy read tools. The session demonstrates borough-level data in health literacy (the ability to access, assess and use health information) and digital access as part of targeting the use of the easy read tools.

Your library is online: support for nurses and midwives from knowledge and library services with Alan Fricker – Knowledge and Library Hub Manager
The NHS Knowledge and Library Hub is here to help you quickly access the information and evidence you need.
It connects you to a wide range of online resources specifically useful for nurses and midwives, during training, in practice and for professional development. For example, you can get access to The Royal Marsden Manual and a large selection of Oxford medical handbooks relevant to your profession or specialism. Using the Hub can also smooth your path to help from your local NHS library team if you have one.
Join Alan Fricker, Knowledge and Library Hub manager, to explore how to make the most of the full range of evidence support available to you, as well as how to access and navigate the Hub. There will be time for your questions after an initial introduction.
